Welcome to our school!

Welcome to RightHope School, making a difference here in Nongstoin in the state of Meghalaya, India.

This school is the outcome of a vision for the poor to be recognised in India through a very different broad based educational approach. Since 2010 our school has been testing new and innovative methods to provide learning WITH understanding and passion within the usual rote based education system.

We are exploring ways to give fresh learning opportunities to those in need which we hope can be a working model for small schools in developing areas globally as well as uplifting the whole local community. We are ‘doing ourselves out of a job’ by training up local staff to teach, using these very different methods.

There are currently 60 students at the school at 6 different levels with ten students per class. We keep the school small to impact students on a very personal level, not only academically but also to build their understanding of community and compassion to make them better citizens.
